William B. Blythe Memorial Fund Collection
William Brevard Blythe (1928-2000) was born in Huntersville, North Carolina and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1948 at the age of 19. Dr. Blythe was a medical student, resident, and faculty member at UNC, eventually becoming the Marion Covington Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Nephrology. He was instrumental in setting up the first dialysis programs in the nation at UNC.
