Félix Lagrot

Félix Lagrot was born on January 27, 1899 in Algiers. He earned a Doctorat en Médecine from the Université d’Alger in 1924. He served as a doctor during World War II, during which he became interested in English plastic surgery techniques. In 1952, he co-founded the Société française de chirurgie plastique with colleagues in Paris. He taught in Algiers (1958-1962), and was a professor of clinical surgery and hospital surgeon in Toulouse (1962-1970). In 1984 the Centre de Grands Brûlées Félix Lagrot was named for him.

Lagrot was a member of the Académie de chirurgie (1953), corresponding member of the Académie nationale de medicine (1972) and participated in various scientific societies. He was decorated as an Officier de la Légion d’honneur, with the Médaille de l’aéronautique, and as a Chevalier des Palmes académiques.

Félix Lagrot died on November 28, 1998.
