Pierre Goinard

Pierre Goinard was born on June 21, 1903 in Algiers. He came from a respected family, the grandson of a soldier posted in Algeria in 1863 and the son of a hospital surgeon. He taught at the Université d’Alger until 1962. In addition to his work as a doctor, he is known for his dedication to the history and people of Algeria, expressed in his Algérie: l’œvre française, and in Toubibs du bled on which he collaborated with Dr. Gaston Guigon.

He died January 31, 1991.
