Sharing Credible Health Information with fellow employees!

By Lynn Eades March 16, 2017

Librarians Brenda Linares and Linda Johnsen participated in the Work Well, Live Well Expo held Wednesday March 15 at the Rams Head Recreation Center. The annual Expo, hosted by UNC’s Office of Human Resources, gives fellow employees an opportunity to learn about the health and wellness offerings available both on campus and in the community.

Linares and Johnsen highlighted the many resources and services available through the Health Sciences Library (HSL), especially NC Health Info; the Library’s online consumer health guide. This one-of-a-kind resource is tailored specifically for North Carolinians and their health and medical information needs. It serves as a gateway to reliable and easy-to-understand health and medical information, as well as local services. All resources found in NCHI are vetted by HSL librarians and volunteer librarians across North Carolina, a point many attendees expressed appreciation for, given today’s urgency for access to reliable and accurate information.
