Planning and Reports

When "Connecting people everywhere with knowledge to improve health" is your mantra, standing still isn’t an option. The combination of advances in how information is shared and health affairs research and practices has resulted in a period of tremendous excitement and opportunity. The UNC Health Sciences Library (HSL) is constantly working to ensure that it is, as much as possible, out in front of future developments. As users' needs change and technology advances, as the health affairs landscape shifts on an almost daily basis, as global becomes the new local, the HSL has had to adapt and respond. This cannot, nor should not, happen without careful planning and preparation.

Whether consciously or not, our daily lives are governed by a carefully drafted Strategic Plan designed to provide a clear road map for the HSL’s vision of becoming a global health information leader. Looking forward, we are constantly gathering and analyzing data about our library from which to make informed decisions. Looking back each year, in our Year in Review reports, we provide evidence of how we benefitted our users and improved access to information.
