Compact Shelving

The compact shelving is divided up into ranges. End panels without the controls define the beginning and end of a range and do not move. The units with controls move right or left within the defined range.

Controls have three buttons: move left, stop/reset, and move right. There is also a status light above the buttons.

To Use the Compact Shelving

  1. Find the aisle you want by checking the labels on the end of the shelving units.
If all the lights in a range are green, press and hold the arrow to move the shelving units. Once the shelving starts moving, release the button. When the shelves have stopped, you may enter the aisle. The controls will move more than one unit at a time.
If the light on the range you want is not lit, look for the ranges showing red lights like the ones below:
  1. Check to make sure no one is in the aisle. There are sensors for the shelving located at the bottom of the shelves. If a stool is in the aisle, remove it and wait a few seconds. The controls should then turn green.
  2. If the lights do not turn green, press the STOP/RESET control once. If the lights continue to stay red, contact the service desk (1st Floor).

PLEASE BE PATIENT!

  1. It does take a few seconds for the ranges to reset after moving and after pressing the buttons
  2. If you have ANY problems with the compact shelving or need special assistance, please contact the service desk (1st Floor).
